Dear Brothers and sisters,
We are celebrating the Lenten season in preparation for Easter. This season is a deep experience of faith, penance and service to help us prepare ourselves for the upcoming Easter celebration. Every Catholic is invited to live and experience the mysteries of our salvation. On Tuesday of the Holy Week, our bishop will bless the new oils which we will use to anoint Catechumens and the sick, and to consecrate Christians on Baptism, Confirmation and Ordination.
On Holy Thursday, we will receive these new oils for the Sacraments in 2025. Furthermore, we are meditating on the institution of the Sacrament of the Eucharist, the Holy Orders (priesthood) and the new commandment of “love one another”. This Mass will not conclude as usual because we will take the Eucharist to the altar of repose for silent adoration. Then, on Good Friday, there is no Mass but we will gather together for a special service where we will listen to the Passion of Jesus according to St. John; we will adore the cross, and receive Holy Communion. The sense of emptiness can be felt around because Jesus is dead. But as I told you many times, it is not the end. Finally, Holy Saturday is a new beginning. At the Easter Vigil, we celebrate that Our Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross, has risen and is now alive. He rose from the dead and opened for us eternal life with God. This good news should be a cause of great joy for us!
As your Pastor, I want to give thanks to all of you for making our Lenten and Easter celebrations prayerful and beautiful. Let us continue to renew our Faith in the risen Lord as we gather daily and weekly to celebrate God’s everlasting presence among us in the Eucharistic.

Queridos Hermanos y hermanas,
Estamos celebrando el tiempo de cuaresma en preparación para la Pascua. Este tiempo es una experiencia profunda de fe, penitencia y servicio que nos ayuda a prepararnos para las próximas fiestas pascuales. Cada católico es invitado a vivir y experimentar los misterios de nuestra salvación.
El día Martes de la Semana Santa. nuestro Obispo bendecirá los nuevos aceites que serán usados para ungir los catecúmenos, los enfermos y consagrar a los cristianos en el bautizo, confirmación y ordenación.
El jueves Santo, recibiremos esos nuevos aceites para los sacramentos del año 202S. Además que meditaremos en la institución del Sacramento de la Eucaristía. el orden sagrado (sacerdocio) y el nuevo mandamiento de "amarnos los unos a los otros". Esta Misa no concluirá como de costumbre, llevaremos la Eucaristía al altar de reposo para la adoración en silencio. Luego, el Viernes Santo, no hay misa, pero nos reuniremos para una celebración especial donde escucharemos la Pasión de Jesús según san Juan: adoraremos la cruz y recibiremos la santa comunión. La sensación de vacío se puede sentir alrededor porque ha muerto el Señor. Pero como les he dicho muchas veces. éste no es el final. Finalmente, el Sábado Santo es un nuevo comienzo. En la Vigilia Pascual. celebramos que Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que murió en la cruz, ha resucitado y ahora está vivo. Se levantó de entre los muertos y nos abrió la vida eterna con Dios. Esta buena noticia debe ser motivo de gran alegría para nosotros.
Como su Párroco, quiero dar gracias a todos los que han hecho que nuestras celebraciones cuaresmales y de Pascua sean hermosas y con mucha devoción. Continuemos renovando nuestra fe en el Señor resucitado al reunirnos diariamente y semanalmente para celebrar la presencia eterna de Dios entre nosotros en la Eucaristía.
